Comfort Crunch Fruit & Nut Mix

Great Snack, Great Gift, Great Cause

CAPSULE REPORT: Delicious fruit and nut mixes—most with a bit of candy tossed in—hit the spot. And part of the profits go to a very good cause.

Fruit-and-nut mixes abound. What’s so special about Comfort Crunch?

  • Great flavor is a given—the crispest nuts, moist dried fruits and deft seasonings.
  • The packaging—minimalist yet very stylish see-through bags that make you want to tear in to get to the yummy stuff inside.
  • Then there’s the story about the 36-year-old mom with the 1-year-old daughter who found herself with cancer, surgery and chemo. Now in remission, Comfort Crunch enables her to donate 5% of sales to cancer research that will hopefully provide comfort to many.

We’re glad these fit into the “good for you” category of snacks. We just about demolished all four flavors:

  • Original: Almonds, cashews, peanuts and walnuts unite with dried cherries, cranberries and raisins for a wonderful sweet-and-salty play. (Vegan)
  • Ginger In A Snap: Chocolate-coated ginger added to the Original recipe is even more beguiling.
  • Pepita Pick-Me-Up: Pumpkin seeds (pepitas) and crystallized ginger provide a different kind of zing to the Original mix.
  • Toffee Talk: Chunks of chocolate-covered toffee enhance the Original mix.

Ginger In A Snap: We’re snapping to it!

They’re all quite fine, but the one we personally wouldn’t reorder is, surprisingly, Toffee Talk. The toffee has a soft consistency which didn’t sit well with the rest of the textures in the mix. A crunchy toffee would have worked better.

But really, we were quite comforted—no complaints. We’ll be buying lots of these for holiday gifts. Beautiful gift packaging is available.
