The Pioneer

Sautéed wild mushrooms add earthiness to this cheeseburger recipe. You don’t have to hunt your own meat and gather your own mushrooms like a pioneer. The name refers to the fact that this exciting combination of flavors takes the bacon cheeseburger in a new, pioneering direction.

Ingredients

  • Swiss cheese
  • 2 beef patties
  • Sautéed wild mushrooms (try
    cremini
    mushrooms)
  • Rosemary
  • Bacon
  • Garlic mayonnaise (aïoli)
  • Lettuce
  • Sesame seed bun
  • Rosemary garnish

The Waldorf

This cheeseburger takes its inspiration from a Waldorf salad, which consists of apples, walnuts, grapes and mayonnaise on a bed of lettuce. The burger includes the walnuts, but replaces the grapes with dried cherries and calls for curly endive rather than leaf lettuce.
