Granola Bar Reviews

Honest Foods Baked Whole Food Bar

“Vegan, Whole Grains, Contains 190 mg Omega-3 fatty acids.” Honest-Foods.com

  • Apple Ginger. First ingredient: organic whole oats. This bar is chewy and oaty; there’s a definite ginger flavor with periodic bursts of dried apple. The sodium content is higher than for many other bars, but you won’t taste it. Recommended. Per bar (54g): 210 calories, 80 calories from fat, 1g saturated fat, no cholesterol, 180 mg sodium, 4g fiber, 14g sugars, 5g protein.
  • Cran Lemon Zest. First ingredient: organic whole oats. A good lemon presence, sparked with the tart taste of cranberries—a lovely flavor combination. As with Apple Ginger, it’s chewy; and there’s no salt taste despite relatively high sodium content. Recommended. Per bar (54g): 210 calories, 80 calories from fat, 1g saturated fat, no cholesterol, 180 mg sodium, 4g fiber, 14g sugars, 5g protein.

  • Peanut Butter. First ingredient: hard red winter wheat. This very light-textured bar is crunchy as well as a little chewy. It’s lightly sweet with a slight peanut presence, but not much flavor overall. Per bar (35g): 140 calories, 45 calories from fat, 0.5g saturated fat, no cholesterol, 90mg sodium, 4g fiber, 5g sugars, 7g protein.
  • Dark Mocha Almond. First ingredient: hard red winter wheat. A dark coffee-colored bar with mini chocolate chips pressed into the top and a few chunks of almond visible. It has a nice coffee aroma but very little coffee flavor. The texture is light and crisp with a little chewiness. Per bar (35g): 130 calories, 35 calories from fat, 0.5g saturated fat, no cholesterol, 90 mg sodium, 4g fiber, 6g sugars, 6g protein.

“Made with Whole Grains, As Much Calcium & Vitamin D as a Glass of Milk.” Certified kosher by The Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations. KudosBar.com.

  • Peanut Butter. First ingredient: granola. The bar is drizzled with milk chocolate and the bottom is dipped in it. I found this bar too sweet, with some peanut flavor but little chocolate taste. Per bar (22g): 100 calories, 35 calories from fat, 2g saturated fat, no cholesterol, 80mg sodium, 1g fiber, 8g sugars, 1g protein.
  • With Snickers Chunks. First ingredient: granola. Identical flavor characteristics to the Peanut Butter variety. Per bar (24 g): 100 calories, 35 calories from fat, 1.5 g saturated fat, no cholesterol, 85mg sodium, 1g fiber, 9g sugars, 1g protein.
