Tequila Guacamole Recipe

Your day of avocado meals just won’t be complete without guacamole. Try this spicy, tequila-infused version for something different. Recipe yields 4 servings.

Ingredients

  • 4 large, ripe avocados
  • 2 ounces white onion, finely chopped
  • 2 ounces pickled jalapeños,* finely chopped
  • 2 ounces pickled carrots,* finely chopped
  • 2 ounces tequila
  • 2 ounces vinegar from the pickled jalapeños
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Juice from 1/2 lime
  • Dried oregano to taste
  • Salt to taste

*You can purchase these products or pickle your own.

Preparation

  1. Mix the jalapeños, carrots, onion, lime juice, oregano, vinegar and tequila and marinate for two minutes.
  2. Cut each avocados in half, removing the pit. Spoon out the pulp and mash with a fork.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and season with salt and olive oil. Serve with chips or on tostadas.
