If you want proof that I’m no different than other women, like any member of my gender I long to hear those three little words whispered into my ear. Of course, in the case of Schocolat, those three little words are “Brandied Pear Caramel.” A milk chocolate shell is wrapped around a buttery caramel, in the midst of which you’ll find a morsel of dried pear macerated in brandy.
Is this my favorite piece from Schocolat? Well, it’s awfully good, but I wouldn’t want to shortchange the Harlequin (orange milk chocolate and lemon-infused white chocolate ganache, enrobed in dark chocolate, with a clever “playing card” garnish). Oh, their Mocha Java is a must-try, too (a smooth combination of milk chocolate, cream, and Mocha Java beans in a dark chocolate shell).
And then the Sunshine Coast Truffle, with three types of citrus…well, you get the idea.
There’s a great deal to like here, and I had a lot of trouble selecting the chocolates that would go into my box. I especially liked the subtle but elegant packaging (photo below).
