Serving Savory CheeseSticks

Here are just some of the things you can do with savory CheeseSticks, WheatSticks or CheeseCrisps. The products can be warmed in the oven before serving.

Cocktail Snack

  • Serve with beer, cocktails and wine. Buy a lot—they’ll disappear quickly!
  • CheeseSticks are so flavorful that they don’t need dip. But if your crowd fancies dipping, an onion or Parmesan dip is the best move.
  • Wrap with bacon: Preheat oven to 350°F. Wrap each CheeseStick with one slice raw bacon. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Allow to cool so bacon crisps; then serve.

Soup & Salad

  • Serve instead of bread or crackers.
  • Use broken pieces/crumbs as croutons.

Lunch & Dinner

  • Add to the bread basket.
  • Serve with the cheese course.

Gifts

  • We love to give CheeseSticks as a house gift, teacher gift and stocking stuffer.

Sweet Straws

SweetSticks, in Dutch Cocoa or Cinnamon, are made with sweetened sourdough and sugared butter, plus Monterey Jack cheese. The cheese creates a cheese pastry dough. They’re not too sweet, and thus a good substitute for richer cookies and pastry.

As with the savory CheeseSticks, they can be served from the box or warmed in the oven.

Serve them:

  • As a light dessert with tea or coffee.
  • As a side to almost any dessert.
  • As a snack—we especially like them with hot chocolate.
  • With ice cream, fruit, fruit salad or compote.
  • Crushed or broken pieces can be used to garnish ice cream or pudding.

Our final advice: Don’t underestimate how much you’ll need. Everyone loves John Wm Macy’s.
