Michael’s Cookies For Gift Giving

Fresh-Baked To Order Cookie Gifts, Kosher-Certified With Wheat-Free Options

CAPSULE REPORT: Michael’s Cookies are dense, rich, all natural and made of certified kosher ingredients. There are no preservatives or trans fats, there’s a whole-grain line, a sugar-free line and a gluten-free cookie, so that as many people as possible can enjoy fresh-baked cookies from a master baker. The dough was awarded first place for best product in the “Outstanding Foodservice” category by the National Association for the Specialty Foods Trade (NASFT). But the consumer cookies are beautifully packaged for corporate gifts or for your favorite cookie lover.

This time of year most of us are happy to be curled up inside on the couch enjoying some of our favorite comfort foods and coming as close to hibernation as we possibly can. While we don’t get three months off for winter, we most always have three minutes to enjoy a new treat, especially one with a home-baked feel to it like Michael’s Cookies. Indeed, Michael says that his first baking experiences took place in the kitchen of his childhood home, alongside his mom. As he grew up, baking evolved from a pastime to a passion. Michael graduated as a pastry chef in Vienna and baked for some of the world’s most respected luxury hotels and resorts. Nearly 45 years later, Michael’s cookies and cookie dough are still bought by the establishments where he began, but he now also caters to some of the world’s most demanding cookie lovers, us!

Michael’s Cookies are dense and rich, perfect for dunking into a glass of milk, enjoying with a cup of coffee, alongside tea or even with Port if you’re feeling so inclined. They come in nearly 20 flavors, divided among classic favorites, seasonal exclusives and specials. Michael’s also has a cookie of the month club and sends all of the goodies out in such nice packaging that they taste even better.

As a supporter of Operation Smile, Michael’s Cookies is also a company with a cause. This organization provides free medical care to underprivileged children worldwide who suffer from facial deformities, and are advocates for healthcare programs in underprivileged areas. We think that these cookies are a perfect opportunity to support a good cause over the holidays while also satiating our desire to be full of good cheer and memories, and what could cheer us up more than a great cookie?

Michael’s Cookies Flavors

Out of the 20 flavors, we tried five plus the gluten-free. Some were “classic favorites,” others ephemeral “seasonal exclusives,” all were good (except the gluten-free chocolate chip, which doesn’t taste anything like a wheat-based cookie and couldn’t be expected to hold a candle to the rest). Even within our small assortment, the team at Michael’s managed to select something for everyone. Crisp on the bottom and chewy in the center, Michael’s truly do taste like we pulled them off a cookie sheet. We can’t wait to eat more.

Cappuccino Chocolate Chunk
Cookies

A traditional chocolate chip cookie with a twist, this flavor had huge chunks of chocolate with just a hint of coffee and cinnamon that would make them a great snack, or perfect dunked into your favorite cup of Joe for brunch. Coffee lovers will love them. One of our favorites.

Maple Pecan Cookies

Large pieces of pecans are scattered throughout this moist and delicious cookie. With a touch of maple, it’s a flavor of fall that makes us look forward to the holiday treats ahead (we began nibbling on these before Halloween). These cookies would be delicious with milk or eggnog. Another favorite, because it’s unusual to find this flavor profile. (Why aren’t there more maple pecan cookies?)

Oatmeal Cinnamon Raisin Cookies

Chewy and dense, with a wonderful and warm cinnamon spice, these may not be your mother’s oatmeal raisin cookies, but they are a delight.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies

The rich authentic taste of a chocolate chip cookie with warming fall flavors of pumpkin and nutmeg: this is for kids of all ages who won’t eat pumpkin pie—and for those who will.

White Chocolate Cranberry
Cookies

Any cookie with white chocolate provides a sweet and salty richness that we enjoy. This cookie is full of plump, dried cranberries that provide a mild tart flavor and chewy texture. A seasonal flavor.

While Michael’s Cookies look so home-baked that you could claim them as your own, the handsome packaging makes them a good choice for corporate gifts as well.
