2009 Picks For Food Gifts For Kids

You don't have to spend big for the littlest person on your gift list—everything but the first item costs less than $25.00. Be sure to also check out our Chocolate Gifts Under $15 and Sweet Stocking Stuffers, because if there’s one thing that children love, it’s sweets! (They’ll also love the Veggie Chips on our Savory Stocking Stuffers list).

Products are shown in alphabetical order. Prices and product availability are verified at publication but are subject to change. These items are offered by a third party and THE NIBBLE has no relationship with them.

Bentley’s Popcorn:
Butter Pecan, Cinnamon Almond
& Toffee Caramel

This excellent toffee-covered popcorn makes any day a holiday, and kids will have to watch out that parents don’t snitch a snack pack. In individual 1.5-ounce bags for crispness and portion control, the bags are packed in reusable gold tins featuring the smiling face of Bentley, the canine mascot. This popcorn will help youngsters develop a palate: They’ll instantly recognize how superior it is to everything they’ve had before. The Toffee Caramel flavor is the same as the Butter Pecan flavor, but without the nuts.

  • Bentley's Popcorn Gift Tins
    20 To 60 Bags

L.A. Burdick Chocolate:
Hot Chocolate Canister With Mini-Whisk

We hate to call this hot chocolate “too good for kids,” because it’s the best our adult palate has ever had. The chocolate is the same cacao from which Larry Burdick makes his terrific chocolate confections. But, treat your favorite youngsters to a canister, and let them learn how to make hot chocolate from scratch with the mini-whisk provided. Read our review of Burdick Chocolate, a NIBBLE Top Pick Of The Week.

Swiss Maid Fudge:
Snickers Fudge

We tasted through many of the flavors from this fudge-maker. Most were too sweet for us (although not for any kid). But, the one that we thought was spot-on was Snickers Fudge—crunchy peanuts and caramel united with chocolate fudge. What we liked even better was the sugar-free fudge, which had just enough sweetness without being cloying (you couldn’t tell it was sugar free). Find it on our Sugar-Free Gift List.
