September 27th is National Chocolate Milk Day. You can celebrate it like a kid or like a grown-up. The grown-up version is mixed with vodka.
Chocolate milk was one of our favorite beverages of youth. First we made it with Hershey’s Syrup. For converting plain milk to chocolate milk at school, there was the precursor of today’s Magic Milk Straws. For variety, we used Nesquick powder.
Today, we drink Adult Chocolate Milk: 40 proof perfection from the Adult Beverage Company. Check out the store locator and pick up a bottle. You may well end up going back for more, and ordering a case or two for holiday gifts. At $17.99 a bottle, you can afford it.
Adult Chocolate Milk is a pour-and-serve bottle, ready to be enjoyed straight from the bottle. Serve it chilled, over ice or in a cocktail (there are many on the website). Pour it over ice cream. Add a shot to a milkshake.
Strawberry Milk & More
As an equally nostalgic and flavorful companion, the company recently launched Adult Strawberry Milk, a charmer that tastes of ripe strawberries and sweet cream—and premium vodka of course.
There’s also Adult Limeade. It’s fine, but we’d rather have a Margarita.
The company promises that there are more nostalgia-inspired, playful pour-and-serve spirits to come. We vote for Creamsicle.
Adult Beverage Company products do not require refrigeration. They’re packaged in a retro-chic glass bottle with a swing-top closure, that can be repurposed for water or other beverages.
We prefer drinking Adult Chocolate and Strawberry Milks straight from the bottle, but don’t deny the charms of the numerous cocktails the company has developed. Here’s a taste:
Chocolate Monkey Cocktail Recipe
There’s no need to eat a chocolate-dipped banana when you can drink it!
Ingredients Per Drink
- 1-1/4 parts Adult Chocolate Milk
- 3/4 part banana liqueur
- 1 part whipped cream
- Garnish: notched banana slice, chocolate
syrup
Preparation
- Mix ingredients.
- Decorate the inside of a Martini glass with chocolate syrup.

Neapolitan Shot Cocktail Recipe
The famous brick of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream has been reimagined as a cocktail:
Ingredients Per Drink
- .75 ounce Adult Chocolate Milk
- .75 ounce whipped cream
- .75 ounce Adult Strawberry Milk
- Whipped cream for garnish
Preparation
- Layer in shot glass: Adult Strawberry Milk, whipping cream, Adult Chocolate Milk. The Adult Chocolate Milk will float through the whipped cream and settle on top of the Adult Strawberry Milk.
- Garnish with fresh whipped cream. See photo at top of page.
It’s All Thanks To Facebook
Former high school friends Tracy Reinhardt and Nikki Halbur reconnected over Facebook. Tracy had created a recipe for Adult Chocolate Milk that became an overnight sensation with her friends.
The demand for Tracy’s recipe inspired her to make the recipe commercially available, and Nikki joined as co-founder of the Adult Beverage Company. Adult Chocolate Milk was introduced in 2009, and the rest is tasty history.
