Sweet Cream Cheese Spreads

When it’s time for dessert or a sweet snack, the cheesecake “fondues” are a welcome find.

You can melt them in a fondue pot and use them to dip fruit, cake, cookies and pretzels or drizzle them over desserts. But the jars aren’t large enough to provide us with enough to share; we prefer using them as spreads.

Chocolate cheesecake in a jar? Who could object to that?

The name says it all: It’s even more satisfying than a slice of lemon cheesecake.

Vanilla Cheesecake Fondue Spread

The vanilla cheesecake also provides a base for creative flavoring. You can mix it with chopped nuts, liqueurs or diced fruit to create your own dessert.

Serving Suggestions

  • Cake: Use as a cake filling or to make sandwiches or finger sandwiches with pound cake; Lemon and Vanilla are a perfect spread on carrot or zucchini bread
  • Cheesecake Attack: Eat from the jar
  • Cookies: Use as a spread on plain cookies (chocolate wafers, graham crackers, tea biscuits, wheatmeal biscuits, gingersnaps) or make cookie sandwiches with almost any type of cookie

  • Cupcakes: Use as icing or filling
  • Muffins: Use as a spread instead of butter or jam

For a gift, you can combine two small flavors or a large one, plus a box of interesting crackers, for less than $15.00.
