Overview

Doctors and nutritionists try to motivate us to eat better by explaining that with subtle changes, you can improve the healthiness of your diet. You get gain with no pain.

If you crave the crunch of chips, potato chips don’t cut the mustard. But rice chips, corn chips and bean chips add nutrition to the crunch. Brown rice and corn are whole grains; beans are nutrition- and fiber-dense. They are also gluten-free, kosher and vegan.

The chips have 12g of whole grains per one-ounce serving. If you go wild and eat four servings, you’ll have reached your suggested 48g/day whole grains.

(Note: With other brands of rice chips, check the ingredients list to be sure your rice chips are made from brown rice, not white rice.)

All-natural and cholesterol-free, the company claims 33% less fat than potato chips.

A snack pleasure right out of the bag, rice chips are always a natural with salsa and dips. They can be broken to provide a crunchy crouton effect in casseroles, salads and soups, or served whole on the side. You can crush them for a gluten-free crust for savory tarts, quiche and similar foods.

The Cinnamon chip can be used for sweet desserts—in crusts, as a crumbled topping, as an accompaniment to sweets or with hot chocolate and milk instead of cookies. For a true indulgence, dip in warm chocolate sauce for a chip fondue.

While rice chips tend to be costlier than potato chips, we think they’re more than worth it.

MORE TO DISCOVER

Flavors Of Riceworks Rice Crisps (Rice Chips)

These hearty crisps/chips are strong enough to dip into anything without breaking.

All of the flavors are very tasty:

  • Baked Cinnamon
  • Parmesan
  • Salsa Fresca
  • Sea Salt
  • Sweet Chili
  • Tangy BBQ

While we devoured every chip, for us the Parmesan rice crisp was the standout flavor—a rich Parmesan experience that is a perfect accompaniment to soups and salads as a delicious “crouton.”

But whichever flavor you choose, we think you’ll find it chipalicious.
