Kraft Macaroni And Cheese—Premium, Spirals & Stovetop Cartoon Varietie

Kraft’s Premium Macaroni & Cheese Dinners are characterized by an extra thick sauce. The brand’s Premium White Cheddar variety was a favorite.

Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (Premium Thick ‘n Creamy)

  • Serving size: 2.5 ounces/70 grams/makes about 1 cup
  • Servings per container: about 3
  • You add: “spread,” 2% milk
  • Yield when prepared: generous 2-1/2 cups
  • Per serving: 380 calories (140 calories from fat). 15 grams total fat, 4 grams saturated fat, 3 grams trans fat, 5 to 10 mg cholesterol, 740 mg sodium, 2 grams fiber, 10 grams protein, 15% calcium
  • Tasting notes: Inexact cholesterol figure is from box label. “Thick ‘n Creamy” is a good description for the mildly cheesy sauce. The sauce derives much of its thickness from the use of small amounts of cellulose gum and cellulose gel (Find out more about these ingredients on Page 2).

Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (Premium Three Cheese with Mini-Shell Pasta)

  • Serving size: 2.5 ounces/70 grams/makes about 1 cup
  • Servings per container: about 3
  • You add: “spread,” 2% milk
  • Yield when prepared: 2-1/3 cups. Per serving: 380 calories (130 calories from fat). 15 grams total fat, 4 grams saturated fat, 3 grams trans fat, 5 mg cholesterol, 760 mg sodium, 1 gram fiber, 9 grams protein, 10% calcium
  • Tasting notes: Very creamy and rich-tasting. Some cheese flavor.

 

Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (Premium White Cheddar)~A Favorite

  • Serving size: 2.5 ounces/70 grams/about 1/3 box/makes about 1 cup
  • Servings per container: about 3
  • You add: “spread,” 2% milk
  • Yield when prepared: generous 2-1/3 cups
  • Per serving: 380 calories (140 calories from fat). 15 grams total fat, 4 grams saturated fat, 3 grams trans fat, 10 mg cholesterol, 740 mg sodium, 2 grams fiber, 10 to 11 grams protein, 10% calcium
  • Tasting notes: Inexact protein figure is from box label. Much richer than most, with a correspondingly higher than usual fat content. Mild cheese flavor but very pleasant. A favorite.

Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (Spirals)

  • Serving size: 2.5 ounces/70 grams/makes about 1 cup
  • Servings per container: about 2
  • You add: unsalted butter, fat-free milk
  • Yield when prepared: generous 1-1/2 cups
  • Per serving: 290 calories (50 calories from fat). 6 grams total fat, 3 grams saturated fat, 20 mg cholesterol, 590 mg sodium, 1 gram fiber, 9 to 10 grams protein, 15% calcium
  • Tasting notes: Inexact protein figure is taken from box label. Suggested preparation uses just 1 teaspoon of butter and 3 tablespoons of fat-free milk. Because of the lack of fat, the sauce has very little taste.

Macaroni & Cheese Dinner (Toy Story-shaped pasta)

  • Serving size: 2.5 ounces/70 grams/makes about 1 cup
  • Servings per container: about 2
  • You add: unsalted butter, fat-free milk
  • Yield when prepared: 1-3/4 cups
  • Per serving: 290 calories (50 calories from fat). 5 grams total fat, 3 grams saturated fat, 15 mg cholesterol, 600 mg sodium, 9 to 10 grams protein, 1 gram fiber, 25% calcium
  • Tasting notes: Inexact protein figure is taken from box label. Sauce is on the thin side, with very little cheese flavor.
