Silver Moon Ice Cream Flavors

Superpremium ice cream is crafted into imaginative recipes:

Bourbon Vanilla Bean. The company’s newest ice cream flavor is made with bourbon vanilla extract and real vanilla beans.

Coffee With Brownie Bits Ice Cream. Coffee, brownies and coffee liqueur? You can’t go wrong, this is practically comfort food. The contents of the pint seemed to disappear. Serve it with a shot of coffee liqueur; if guests like, they can pour it over the ice cream. (Photo at top of page.)

Crème De Mint Chip Ice Cream. Not enough mint liqueur in this one for us, but the mint ice cream, with tons of tiny chocolate bits of fine Belgian chocolate, was good.

Orange Creamsicle Ice Cream. We love the “Creamsicle” combination of vanilla ice cream and orange sorbet. Here, they are turned out in style: Crème fraîche is mixed with Cointreau and bits of candied orange peel. While you have to be 21 to purchase Silver Moon desserts, we can see the kids enjoying this one. And no, it won’t lead them down the path to intemperance—the alcohol flavor is not prominent. Definitely serve this one with a snifter of orange liqueur.

Praline Irish Cream. We’re crazy about Irish cream liqueur, so we were more than delighted to have a pint of Irish cream ice cream, dotted with delectable candied pecan pralines. A great flavor!

Silver Moon Sorbet Flavors

Lavender Limoncello. Lavender-infused lemon sorbet is infused with Limoncello liqueur in this newest sorbet flavor.

Mango Mimosa Sorbet. Here, mango puree is infused with Champagne. A delicate-flavored alcohol, the Champagne is a light touch, but the overall effect is a good one. It gave us the idea to put any mango sorbet in a wine goblet filled with a couple of  fingers of sec or demi-sec Champagne.

Mojito Ice Sorbet. One of the less sweet flavors, tart from the lime and very minty (fresh mint, of course),  there’s rum. Definitely like a frozen Mojito. A great palate cleanser.

Pomegranate Martini Sorbet. Pretty in pink and very refreshing. Pomegranate juice and pomegranate liqueur are frozen into something very special—as a dessert, palate cleanser or frozen cocktail. (Photo at left.)

Strawberry Daiquiri Sorbet. Ripe strawberries dominate, with accents of lime. Dark rum and triple sec make this a (much lower-proof) frozen strawberry Daiquiri to cool you off poolside.

It would be completely appropriate to host a “frozen cocktail sorbet soirée” for your teenagers and their friends. Just be sure to order enough for the parents, who won’t want to miss this particular kids’ party.
