the DAILY NIBBLE ™
A Foodie tip of the day

Saving Bad Bubbly

If you open a bottle of champagne and it’s too dry, too flat, or otherwise not to your liking, there’s no need to toss it. Add framboise—raspberry liqueur—and make Kir Royale. Pour an inch of the liqueur into a flute or other wine glass, then add the champagne. White wine with framboise makes a regular Kir, so use this trick to turn so-so white wine into festive party drinks. If you don’t have framboise, you can use any fruit liqueur, although framboise and champagne are especially magical together.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Welcome to the December issue of THE NIBBLE.

In addition to holiday gifts for fine food lovers, we’ve planned ahead for New Year’s Eve with hors d’oeuvres and libations. For revelers who want something non-alcoholic but special to ring in the New Year, check out our water of the month, Bling H2O, in a bottle embedded with Swarovski crystals.

We wish you a joyous holiday season. Enjoy the festivities—our January issue will focus on healthy specialty foods!

In addition to this monthly online magazine, we e-mail our top food pick of the week to opt-in subscribers.
